YM (Young Muslims) is a national organization with a local chapter in Rhode Island. It is all about sisterhood. Their motto: sisterhood is empowering, and empowered women are superwomen. YM strives to create a safe space for all girls to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In addition to a study circle and social activities, YM Rhody sisters are known to show up en masse to volunteer whenever and wherever the community needs them.
Check out their weekly book club meetings, every Sunday at 1:30 PM at Masjid Al-Kareem. The YM events calendar is embedded below.
YMRI sisters have also founded a Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom Youth Chapter (learn more about SOSS here). If you are interested to take part in this interfaith event with young Muslim and Jewish women, contact them at the e-mail to the right!
