Masjid Al-Kareem (Islamic Center of Rhode Island) : website

The Islamic Center was established in November of 1976 for the sole purpose of the worship of Allah (Subhanahu- Wa- Taala) and for religious education in the form of summer schools, lecture seminars male and female youth programs, religious services to inmates and various other activities. The Islamic Centre of Rhode Island is a non-profit organization serving the needs of the Muslim community of the Greater Providence area. Our centre offers rich religious and social activities to its members. Congregational prayers (Jam'ah) are held five times daily. Friday prayers (Jum'ah) are also held at the Islamic Centre. In addition, educational classes, shurah, various discussion, tafseer programs, and social gatherings are held regularly. On Sundays, the Islamic Centre provides religious education at various levels to the children of the community.

 

 

Masjid Al-Islam : website

The largest masjid in Rhode Island, Masjid Al-Islam openly welcomes Muslims of all religious affiliations, as its adherents come from all over the world. The masjid holds primary the Qur’anic scriptures and the Sunnah (traditions of prophet Muhammad). In addition to the daily and weekly prayers, the masjid performs marriage and death ceremonies, maintains a Sunday school for its youth, and provides a variety of events for its adults, including social gatherings and religious classes and discussions.

 

 

Masjid Al-Rahman (Muslim Society of R.I.):: website

The masjid was established in Januray 2000. It serves a Muslim community of about 30 families. It has a resident imam for all prayers and for the Friday ceremony. Our regular activities include: The Friday prayer, with an average attendance of 120 persons; Sunday lecture after Maghreb; Wednesday Tajweed (Quraan recitation). This summer we hosted the Youth Summer Program, which in addition to teaching various Islamic basics, included sports, recreation, visits, swimming, and hiking.

 

 

 

 

Masjid Al-Hoda (The Community Center of Kingston)

The Masjid is centrally located in the URI campus, with the membership of 15 to 18, and about 10 to 12 families are affiliated with the mosque, (we have good size of car parking). The mosque has a permanent Imam for the salatul Jumuah (Hafiz Imam Abdul-Hannan) and it is open for the local community to perform the five daily prayers at all times. Our activities include: 1) Once a month we have "HALAQAH" and the program starts with serving dinner, 2) Weekend School: Saturday School of Islamic Studies. Last year we started weekend Islamic School with a total of 12 students. The classes started at 10: am till Zuhar prayer.

 

 

Masjid Zumaratul Jannat

 

Our activities include: the 5 daily prayers, Jum'ah Services, Sunday Zikr (starting 6 pm), and Arabic and Islamic classes (daily at Imam's hous). Our special ceremonies include: Marriage, Aqiqah, Funerals, Graduation, Admissions of new individuals who embraced Islam. We also conduct Islamic outreach to people of other religions.

 

 

Masjid Ar-Razzak (Muslim Community Center of Rhode Island)

 

The Organization was established in 1992 by a Group of Muslims from Nigeria out of their concern to further educate themselves about their religion, address common issues at it affects their deen, give helping hands to one another on welfare matters, socialize, and ultimately live their lives according to the injunctions of the Qu'ran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Since establishment, the organization have been waxing stronger with the help of Allah, through numerous programmes and activities, some of which includes:

  • Masjid Ar-Razaq; Observation of the Five Daily Prayers and Salat-ul-Jumah.
  • Ad-khar/ Lecture Session: Every Sunday @ 12pm-2: 30 pm
  • Weekend Quranic & Islamic Studies Classes: Fridays 6-8pm & Sundays 10am-12pm.
  • Monthly General Du'a: Tahajud & Recitation of Qu'ran every last Saturday of the month.
  • Lectures & Seminars: Pre -Ramadan & Ramadan Lectures. Also in collaboration with Govt. agencies there were awareness seminars on the
  • "Importance of Census" & "Evils of Tobacco Smoking" from Islamic perspectives.
  • Iftar Session: Throughout Ramadan we have Iftar session being sponsored by different member household.
  • Tarawih Prayers: Observed throughout Ramadan.
  • Eid Family Get-together: On both Eids we organize feasting for all and gifts for children.
  • Aqeeqah: We carry out naming ceremony for newly born.
  • Welfare: We identify and support each other in times of joys sorrows and sickness.
The Organization has an executive committee that is vested with running of its affairs and the membership strength of well over Fifty (50) member Families. Although the center was formed by Muslim-Nigerians its membership is not in anyway restricted to a group of people .It is open to all Muslims.

 

 

Muslim American Dawah Center of Rhode Island : website

Muslim American Dawah Center of Rhode IslandThe organization serves approximately 15 members. Its activities include: Dawah, Dialog, Distribution of Islamic information, Annual "Putting the neighbor Back in the Event."

Brown Muslim Students' Association (BMSA) :: website
The BMSA is a group that provides support for local Muslim students at Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). We also sponsor several activities designed to outreach the greater community and have a permanent space for prayers for those students who would like to take advantage of it. This past year we organized our yearly Eid dinner (always a huge success with high Muslim and non-Muslim attendance), sponsored several lectures by prominent Muslim academics on a variety of subjects and raised several hundred dollars on behalf of USA for UNHCR to benefit Afghan refugees.
Muslim Student Association of the University of Rhode Island
This organization primarily serves the Muslim student population at the University of Rhode Island (URI). We have organized several activities, including panel discussions and lectures, in order to familiarize the URI community with Islamic practices and issues. Such activities include panel discussions on the Middle East crisis and on the role of the Muslim community in the US in the aftermath of 9/11. We have also worked with the Multicultural Center at URI to create a network of multicultural and minority groups on campus.
Muslim Student Association of the Community College of Rhode Island :: website

This organization primarily serves Muslim students at the Community College of Rhode Island(CCRI).Our objective is to do panel discussions and lectures, in order to familiarize the CCRI community with Islamic practices and issues. Such activities include panel discussions on the Middle East crisis and on the role of the Muslim community in the US in the aftermath of 9/11. In addition to that, we will try inshaallah to help every muslim or muslima to better understand their religion and to be able to practise it within the campus.

 

 

Islamic School of Rhode Island (ISRI) :: website

 

The Islamic School of Rhode Island (ISRI) is not just a school , but also a community center, where Friday prayers and Community activites take place.
ISRI is the first full-time Islamic Elementry and Middle School in the state of Rhode Island. Approved by the department of Elementry Education. ISRI started its mission in September, 2004,for grades Prek-1 - 8th grade.
