RICMA CONDEMNS ATTACK ON SEATTLE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER AND EMPHASISES THAT MIDEAST CONFLECT SHOULD NOT TRANSEND TO AMERICA
The Rhode Island Council for Muslim Advancement (RICMA) condemns the attack on the Jewish community center in Seattle, Wash., that left one person dead and five more injured on Friday, July 28.
A lone gunman who reportedly said, "I'm a Muslim American; I'm angry at Israel," entered the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle and began shooting. The alleged gunman was later arrested and authorities discovered that the man had a history of mental illness.
RICMA condemns the senseless attack on the Jewish community center and urges that the American Muslim and Jewish communities work together so that the current events in the Middle East do not spill over into America. Meanwhile, RICMA requests additional efforts from law enforcement agencies to increase security at synagogues and mosques across the country.
