Meeting With Law-Enforcement Officials / John Enright Response
Mohamed,
I hope you feel as I do that our meeting went well last week and I look forward to continuing our dialogue. I wanted to follow up with you on a number of requests/issues your group raised.
1. You requested a list of charities sanctioned by the United States and blocked from financial dealings with United States Citizens and residents as well as US Corporate entities. I have included a link below to the list which comprises 73 pages of every person, corporation, charity and other entities blocked by the President's Executive Order from having financial dealings with the US and its citizens. The list is in alphabetical order and provides a good description of all entities and their subsidiaries.
2. You mentioned that financial dealings with our local banks are still an issue. I would like to go to the RI Banker's Association on your behalf and arrange a meeting with our local banking representatives. I may need more specifics of the issues you would like to raise. Could you provide me with a list and/or specific incidents so they will understand the importance of such a meeting. I belongto the Assn.'s Security Committee and feel that this would be the appropriate organization to raise your concerns. Let me know what you think.
I hope you and your leadership benefited as much as we did the other evening from the dialogue. I (we) are particularly excited about a meeting with your community at-large as well as your offer to conduct sensitivity training for the RI law enforcement community. I am working now on a proposal to start training sessions.
Again, thank you to both you and your leadership for your efforts in bringing us all together.
John Enright
