The Islamic Center was established in
November of 1976 for the sole purpose of the worship of Allah (Subhanahu-
Wa- Taala) and for religious education in the form of summer schools,
lecture seminars male and female youth programs, religious services to
inmates and various other activities. The Islamic Centre of Rhode Island
is a non-profit organization serving the needs of the Muslim community
of the Greater Providence area. Our centre offers rich religious and
social activities to its members. Congregational prayers (Jam'ah) are
held five times daily. Friday prayers (Jum'ah) are also held at the
Islamic Centre. In addition, educational classes, shurah, various
discussion, tafseer programs, and social gatherings are held regularly.
On Sundays, the Islamic Centre provides religious education at various
levels to the children of the community.

The largest masjid in Rhode Island, Masjid
Al-Islam openly welcomes Muslims of all religious affiliations, as its
adherents come from all over the world. The masjid holds primary the
Qur’anic scriptures and the Sunnah (traditions of prophet Muhammad). In
addition to the daily and weekly prayers, the masjid performs marriage
and death ceremonies, maintains a Sunday school for its youth, and
provides a variety of events for its adults, including social gatherings
and religious classes and discussions.

Masjid Al-Rahman
was established in 1999 to serves a Muslim community
in the city of Pawtucket, RI and the surrounding areas.
Services offered at the masjid are the Friday prayers, daily
prayers, weekly lectures, tajweed lectures and taraweeh during
Ramadan
Masjid Al-Hoda (The Community Center
of Kingston)

centrally located in the URI campus, with the membership of 15 to
18, and about 10 to 12 families are affiliated with the mosque, (we
have good size of car parking). The mosque has a permanent Imam for
the salatul Jumuah (Hafiz Imam Abdul-Hannan) and it is open for the
local community to perform the five daily prayers at all times. Our
activities include: 1) Once a month we have "HALAQAH" and the
program starts with serving dinner, 2) Weekend School: Saturday
School of Islamic Studies. Last year we started weekend Islamic
School with a total of 12 students. The classes started at 10: am
till Zuhar prayer.

Arabic and Islamic classes (daily at Imam's hous). Our special
ceremonies include: Marriage, Aqiqah, Funerals, Graduation,
Admissions of new individuals who embraced Islam. We also conduct
Islamic outreach to people of other religions

The Organization was
established in 1992 by a Group of Muslims from Nigeria out of their
concern to further educate themselves about their religion, address
common issues at it affects their deen, give helping hands to one
another on welfare matters, socialize, and ultimately live their
lives according to the injunctions of the Qu'ran and the Sunnah of
Prophet Muhammad (swt)
Muslim American Dawah Center of R.I. The organization serves approximately 15 members.
Its activities include: Dawah, Dialog, Distribution of Islamic
information, Annual "Putting the neighbor Back in the Event."
Brown University Muslim Association (BMSA)
The BMSA is a group that provides support for
local Muslim students at Brown University and Rhode Island School of
Design (RISD). We also sponsor several activities designed to outreach
the greater community and have a permanent space for prayers for those
students who would like to take advantage of it. This past year we
organized our yearly Eid dinner (always a huge success with high Muslim
and non-Muslim attendance), sponsored several lectures by prominent
Muslim academics on a variety of subjects and raised several hundred
dollars on behalf of USA for UNHCR to benefit Afghan refugees
Muslim Association of the
University of Rhode Island (URI)
This organization primarily serves the Muslim student population at the
University of Rhode Island (URI). We have organized several activities,
including panel discussions and lectures, in order to familiarize the
URI community with Islamic practices and issues. Such activities include
panel discussions on the Middle East crisis and on the role of the
Muslim community in the US in the aftermath of 9/11. We have also worked
with the Multicultural Center at URI to create a network of
multicultural and minority groups on campus.
Muslim Student Association of the
community College of Rhode Island
This organization primarily serves Muslim students
at the Community College of Rhode Island(CCRI).Our objective is to do
panel discussions and lectures, in order to familiarize the CCRI
community with Islamic practices and issues. Such activities include
panel discussions on the Middle East crisis and on the role of the
Muslim community in the US in the aftermath of 9/11. In addition to
that, we will try inshaallah to help every muslim or muslima to better
understand their religion and to be able to practice it within the
campus.
