Muslim Girl Scouts of Rhode Island

About US

As-Salam Alakium,

We believe it is important to have Muslim
Girl Scouts because the girls have the
opportunity to perform educational activities,
learn leadership skills, gain confidence,
and have fun all in an Islamic environment.
Each troop meeting opens with one of the
scouts reciting Al-Fatiha and closes with a
dua, and activities and trips are modified
to ensure that they fall within Islamic guidelines.

The troops are under the umbrella the Sisters
Wing of RICMA, and also affiliated with the Muslim
American Society (MAS). MAS affiliation allows us
to a nationwide network of Muslim troop leaders as
well as certain Islam-based patches and badges
that the girls can earn.

Our troops meet in the Islamic School of Rhode
Island cafeteria twice per month for 1 1/2 hours, and
also attend field trips on the weekend once or twice
a month.

Inshallah, we expect that the troops will grow
much more in the fall since we have received
many inquiries from parents in our community
and beyond. We are very much open to
suggestions and feedback and welcome any
questions.

Jazak Allahu Khyran,

Jeena Santos Ahmed
Troop 477 leader
